Process Specialist or Engineer

Description: 

Graduate engineer 2-5 years’ experience in mechanical/chemical engineering  to contribute to process development, HAZOP, pilot trials and training of personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technology transfer of processes and support Production Team during manufacturing campaign.

Participate in testing, commissioning, and operation of processing plants and writing of technical reports to meet project objectives

Actively participates in health, safety, and environmental reviews associated with laboratory, pilot, and manufacturing plant. Demonstrates process safety leadership

Undertakes process development and improvement projects and refines process information, plant documentation, risk assessments   and standard operating procedures.

Solves plant operating problems by planning and/or performing trials to evaluate possible solutions and obtaining critical engineering data for process scale-up.

Conduct HAZOPs, and develops control plans, FMEA, PFD, P&ID, work instructions and training of personnel

Supports the development of laboratory analytical methods and carry out analysis to monitor product quality

Qualifications: 

Required skills, Knowledge and Experience

At least 2-5 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing plant or pilot plants as process /materials/ chemical/ engineer

Degree in relevant field such as chemical engineering /materials/ metallurgy

Experience of conducting HAZOP, health, safety and environmental reviews in a manufacturing or pilot plants

Hands-on experience with key engineering skills such as equipment sizing, heat and mass balance calculations, development of PFD’s and P&ID’s, computer simulations/modelling eg MATLab, ASPEN etc

Must be comfortable to work with minimal supervision in laboratory and on plant
